At Spar Holding, order management system EasyOrder streamlines the exchange of messages between sales points, distribution centres and suppliers delivering directly to supermarkets. Every month, one and a half million order lines are exchanged.

Easy Order gives the 325 Spar supermarkets all the benefits of having a single communication channel with every supplier. Supermarkets gather their orders using hand-held terminals. The order lines are validated and recoded in the central Easy Order database. EasyOrder then transmits the order lines to the company software of a Spar distribution centre or to a supplier’s system. Supermarkets can enter order lines online in the web shop, view the Spar product file at any time, track the status of orders and print a variety of reports.

Spar uses three EasyOrder functionalities that were specifically developed for the retail industry. The BAS (Bestel- en AfleverSchema/ Order and Delivery Schedule) provides information on the required order time, quantity and delivery moment. The sales plan allows users to order quickly and in a controlled environment, based on order history. Orders for promotional products can be placed using the ‘Promotional Orders’ module.
